Cycle Response Team

Do you love cycling? Then our Cycle Response Team could be the perfect role for you.

We are looking for enthusiastic medical personnel who enjoy keeping fit while delivering high-quality patient care. Cycle responders play a vital role at events and in busy public spaces, allowing us to reach patients quickly in areas where larger emergency vehicles may be delayed by crowds, traffic or restricted access.

As a member of the Cycle Response Team, you will patrol event sites, respond to medical incidents, provide immediate assessment and treatment, and request additional resources where required. Equipped with specialist medical equipment and communications systems, our cycle responders are often the first clinicians on scene, providing reassurance and lifesaving interventions until further assistance arrives.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working independently, have excellent situational awareness and thrive in fast-paced environments. A good level of physical fitness and confidence riding a bicycle for extended periods is essential.

To be eligible for the Cycle Response Team, applicants must hold a valid FREC (First Response Emergency Care) qualification or an equivalent pre-hospital care qualification recognised by First Response Scotland.

Due to the autonomous nature of the role and the level of clinical decision-making required, First Aiders are not eligible to apply for this position.

Recruitment Vetting & Rehabilitation

Fire Marshal Trainee

Begin your career with us earning the National Minimum Wage for your age during training (£12.71 per hour if aged 21+, £10.85 per hour if aged 18–20, or £8.00 per hour if under 18). Once you successfully qualify, your pay will increase to the applicable qualified Fire Marshal rate. Build valuable experience, develop your skills and become part of a professional team committed to keeping Scotland safe.

Fire Marshal

Earn from £12.71 per hour as a qualified Fire Marshal (aged 21+), £10.85 per hour (aged 18–20), or £8.00 per hour (under 18), with an additional £2.00 per hour for personnel who hold a full UK driving license / full UK motorbike license. Join a professional team providing fire safety cover at events across Scotland, helping to protect the public, prevent emergencies and respond effectively when required.

First Aider

Start your journey earning the National Minimum Wage for your age during training (£12.71 per hour if aged 21+, £10.85 per hour if aged 18–20, or £8.00 per hour if under 18). Gain nationally recognised first aid qualifications, develop valuable emergency care skills and build hands-on experience working at a variety of events across Scotland. FREC 3 First Responder

Earn £12.71 per hour as a qualified FREC 3 First Responder (aged 21+), £10.85 per hour (aged 18–20), or £8.00 per hour (under 18), with an additional £2.00 per hour for personnel who hold a full UK driving license / full UK motorbike license. Join our professional medical team providing first aid and emergency care at events across Scotland. You'll assess and treat casualties, respond to medical incidents and work alongside other emergency service personnel to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of the public. FREC 4 First Responder

Take the next step in your pre-hospital care career with First Response Scotland. Qualified FREC 4 Responders earn £14.00 per hour, rising to £16.00 per hour for those who hold a full UK driving license / full UK motorbike license. Working across a variety of events throughout Scotland, you'll provide a high standard of patient care, respond confidently to medical emergencies and play a vital role in protecting the health and wellbeing of the public. Paramedic

We're looking for experienced and dedicated Paramedics to join our expanding medical team. Earn £20.00 per hour, with an enhanced rate of £22.00 per hour for personnel who hold a full UK driving license / full UK motorbike license. Student Paramedic

Take your clinical training beyond the classroom. As a Student Paramedic with First Response Scotland, you'll earn £13.00 per hour, rising to £15.00 per hour with a full UK driving license / full UK motorbike license. Work alongside experienced healthcare professionals at a wide range of events, gain practical pre-hospital care experience and develop the skills needed for a successful career as a registered Paramedic.

SIA Security Officer

We're looking for professional and reliable SIA-licensed Security Officers to join our growing team. Earn £12.71 per hour (aged 21+), £10.85 per hour (aged 18–20), or £8.00 per hour (under 18), with an additional £2.00 per hour if you hold a full UK driving license / full UK motorbike license. Whether it's festivals, concerts, sporting events or private functions, you'll be at the heart of event safety, providing a visible security presence and delivering outstanding customer service while helping to keep people safe.

Control Staff

Earn £12.71 per hour (aged 21+), £10.85 per hour (aged 18–20), or £8.00 per hour (under 18) as a Control Staff member with First Response Scotland. Support our frontline teams by coordinating operations, monitoring communications, dispatching resources and ensuring events run safely and efficiently. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role suited to individuals who are organised, confident and able to remain calm under pressure.

Social Media Staff

Join First Response Scotland as a Social Media Team Member and earn £12.71 per hour (aged 21+), £10.85 per hour (aged 18–20), or £8.00 per hour (under 18). Help showcase our work by creating engaging content, capturing photos and videos at events, managing our social media platforms and promoting our services to the public. Working closely with our operational teams, you'll play an important role in growing our online presence, sharing key updates and highlighting the professionalism and dedication of our fire, medical and security personnel.
